Lanka Organics’ tea is grown organically in the highlands of the Uva province of Sri Lanka (on our Greenfield estate) through the use of natural inputs and methods that make our tea naturally low in caffeine and tannin (see CAFFEINE CONTENT OF ORGANIC TEA). Handpicked and processed in our own facility. You will find that our teas have a unique flavour and aroma. Premium grades are available in loose leaf and tea bag packs. Our present range of organic teas includes Organic black tea, green tea, and herbal tea…. Greenfield estate is a certified Level A (full organic) plantation and is included on the International Fair-trade Tea Register. Although it is optional for buyers to use the Fair-trade label on the tea, a share of profits is directed towards the Social Committee on the estate regardless of the buyer’s decision. A clear audit trail exists for the Social Premium, and regular inspections ensure the integrity of the Social Premium system.

The tea estate is inspected annually by the Organic Farmers & Growers (UK),NASAA (Australia), SKAL (The Netherlands) and was inspected by IMO in 1996 ,2000 and 2003 as well.
